Do you need to know your duties under CDM?

If you are involved with construction projects in any capacity, on a one off basis or regularly, yes you do.

CDM applies to any construction project, from decorating an office to building a block of flats, no matter the size or duration.

Since nearly everyone will be involved in construction work of some form or another, it is important to know your duties, even if you're not acting as Principal Contractor or Principal Designer.

And if you are a contractor or designer, knowing your legal duties is even more important.

But what if you just pay for the work, you get the contractors in, you let the designer take care of planning and specifications, so you don't need to worry right?

That would make you a Client, and you too have duties to comply with under CDM.

Since nearly everyone has duties under CDM, we have created 6 FREE downloadable PDF factsheets, covering guidance for CDM duty holders.

Why not read one a day and become fully clued up in just one week, or binge them all in one sitting.

However you decide, we hope these free CDM guidance factsheets will help you know your duties when it comes to small, medium or large construction projects.

You can also check out our step-by-step CDM support guides for more information.
